The Ecotone Project: the greatest love story of all—yours!

From the inception of the Rock (our church community), our heart has always been girded by one unwavering passion: that people might know the love of God and be transformed by it. Our latest project continues that tradition. Currently in the development phase, we envision the Ecotone Project as a vast collection of love stories—your love stories; the life-changing interactions between you and God.

We are in the process of a new website project to distribute these stories through a variety of media. Through story and poem, music and art and many other forms, we hope people will be willing to share their love relationship with God as a light to the world. It is not going to be a place for dogma and doctrine, apologetics and teaching; there are many sites for those things, but this isn’t one of them. We’re not looking for people to send in their treatise on the trinity, or a position paper on some bit of theology. We just want your stories, your encounters with the God of love that are transforming your life.

In time, we hope the Ecotone Project will become a place where people can go, twenty-four hours a day, and find a mosaic of love stories that proclaim the beauty of the Kingdom. With each story a piece of the larger picture, we believe a portrait of Jesus will emerge which will point to Jesus Himself, the refuge for those struggling along the way, and a beacon to those who are searching.

In order for this project to get beyond the development phase, we need one key ingredient: your stories. We would be honored if you were willing to share them with us, and delighted if you’d pass this request along to others you know who may be interested. Please do not send us someone else’s material without their express consent (better yet, have them send it to us), no matter how much you think it captures the heart of your own story. As well, we cannot guarantee that every submission sent to us will be posted, as we must guard ourselves against vulgar or inappropriate submissions; however, it is not our intent to pick and choose between love stories. In fact, the more content we have the better, and the more people who share their experiences of God, the clearer the picture of Jesus becomes. Lastly, at this point we plan to attach the author’s first name to each piece, but no more. If you would like your submission to be anonymous, please indicate that when you submit it.
